The story behind these pictures
When you first put foot on the island of Crete in Greece, you start realizing there is something really different to other places.
Crete is a place where nature, human and gods meet and share some very special moments. Everyone is very respectful towards the other. Everywhere you look, you will find those 3 elements together in a serene harmony. A mix of art; pure and powerful.
I've started taking these pictures when I was on holiday with my family. First, I'd loved the beautiful colour grading, the blues against the yellow of the late sun. The greens against the warm earthy colours. But I couldn't find a common denominator. Only after years of distance to my work, I realized that moving to black and white would give the pictures a far stronger impression of the mix between nature, human and gods.
